BROOKFIELD, Wis. - (10/19/04) -- Fiserv Inc. announced Monday it hasacquired CheckAGAIN LLC., a Herndon, Va., provider of electroniccheck presentment services, as part of its plan to expandelectronic check processing. CheckAGAIN uses automated checkclearinghouse transactions to electronically re-present returnedchecks, primarily for major retailers. The company has developed aproprietary system for electronically recovering checks that werereturned because of insufficient funds. Terms of the deal were notdisclosed.
