Five Mergers Build Kansas’ Mainstreet CU

LENEXA, Kan. – Mainstreet CU, the product of three recent mergers, said it completed its fifth deal with the combination of Wyandotte CU, a $13 million Kansas City credit union.

The latest deal, effective Jan. 3, gives Mainstreet, formerly known as The Credit Union of Johnson County, an additional branch, making a total of 10.

This is the fifth merger Mainstreet has completed in the past two years. It previously merged with Free State CU in Lawrence, Leavenworth Teachers’ and Community CU in Leavenworth, and Faith Financial FCU in North Kansas City. It currently has assets of about $273 million.
