Fla.’s Hood To Retire After 20 Yrs.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Guy M. Hood, who has spent more than 20 years as the president of the Florida league, said he will retire in January 2009. Hood joined the league in 1988, and during his career was recognized for numerous accomplishments, including being named winner of National Credit Union Foundation’s “Anchor Award” for responsive actions in the area of disaster response.

“Guy is an outstanding leader and is at the top of his game,” said FCUL Chairman John Hirabayashi in a released statement. “Under his direction, the Florida Credit Union League has become one of the premier leagues in the country. I know he will do an outstanding job his final year leading the league and setting the stage for a smooth transition.”

“I will certainly miss being a part of this exceptional association on a daily basis,” he said. “But I am excited by the possibilities that are ahead for the league,” said Hood.

The Florida league’s board has retained Credit Union Employment Resources (CUER) to perform the search for Hood’s successor.
