TALLAHASEE, Fla. – Sharon Whiddon, a long-time fixture among state regulators, said she will be retiring as state credit union supervisor on June 30.
Whiddon has been with the state credit union regulator for 36 years. For the last 20 years she has been head of the department, now known as the Bureau of CU Regulation in the state’s Office of Financial Regulation.
During her tenure, the number of state chartered credit unions in Florida has gone from 180 to 83.
