GAINESVILLE, Fla. – State regulators approved an application from Campus USA CU, the first credit union established on a U.S. college campus, to add 450,000 residents in six adjourning counties to its field of membership.

The $1 billion credit union was authorized to add Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Madison, Suwannee and Wakulla counties.
Campus USA was chartered in 1935 as Gainesville Florida Campus FCU and already serves surrounding Alachua, Clay, Columbia, Lake, Marion and Sumter counties.
