DENHAM SPRINGS, La.-Michele R. Merle Lacour, who passed away in October, was named professional of the year by NAFCU for credit unions with assets less than $150 million.
Lacour served as the chief growth officer for LA DOTD Federal Credit Union here, where she worked for more than 10 years. In this role, Lacour oversaw the CU's branding, marketing, financial education, and community and business development efforts.
"Michele was dedicated to LA DOTD Federal Credit union, the credit union movement, and to financial literacy," said Cary Anderson, CEO. "She is someone who is truly missed by all."
Throughout her career, Lacour won several national and local awards for her achievements, including a Diamond Award from the CUNA Marketing Council, a Golden Mirror Award from CUES, four marketing awards from NAFCU, two CAMEO awards from CSCU, one Bronze Award from the Marketing Association of Credit Unions, eight Excellence in Marketing Awards from the Louisiana CU League, and a Telly Award.
