Following surprise resignation, Royal CU names interim CEO

Randy Beck has been named interim president and CEO of Royal Credit Union, following last week's resignation of Rudy Pereira, who is taking the top spot at Premier America CU in Chatsworth, Calif.

Beck, currently Royal CU's EVP of risk management and an employee there for more than 40 years, was planning to retire on at the end of May, but has agreed to stay on through the transition process.

“Randy’s expansive knowledge of Royal and the credit union industry, along with his commitment to our core purpose and values, make him the right person to lead us through the transition process,” said board chairman Doug Olson in a statement.

Royal CU’s board of directors is undertaking a national search to identify the next president and CEO. The credit union has partnered with recruitment firm D. Hilton Associates Inc. of The Woodlands, Texas, to conduct the search. The process is expected to take several months.
