OGDEN, Utah -- Police captured a credit union robber Saturday after they followed his snowy footprints right up to the door of an Ogden apartment where he was trying to hide with the stolen cash.
The suspect entered the Alliance CU about 12:55 p.m. Saturday and handed a teller a note demanding money, according to police. When the teller complied, the man fled on foot, failing to take into account he was leaving footprints behind in the snow.
A witness then followed the suspect to an apartment complex, and pointed officers to the complex. From there, officers picked up the man’s trail, literally following his footprints left in the fresh snow, right to the front door of the apartment where he lived.
Police recovered all the stolen money from the 27-year-old at the scene, but were able to get a full confession.
