The $20 was interest young Kyle Mayer earned on the funds the credit union deposited into his account for 24 hours as part of its savings promotion.
The credit union transferred the funds into the fifth-grader’s account for the day and gave him a number to call so he could hear the seven-figure number for himself.
But young Mayer won’t be splurging on his new-found wealth anytime soon because his father said he will be depositing the $20 into his credit union account.
