Dayton had the 17th highest foreclosure rate out of 100 metropolitan areas in the country for the third quarter of 2007, with one of every 91 homes, or a total of 4,147 foreclosures.

The funds will create a counseling program that will provide free foreclosure prevention advise and connect borrowers with resources to refinance loans and possible grant money to help resolve their delinquency.

Among the credit union participants are: Wright-Patt CU, Day Air CU, River Valey CU and Universal 1 CU.
