MARION, Ind. – Twelve families in the area, with a combined total of 33 children, received food, clothes and toys this Christmas, thanks to Fortress FCU.
The credit union is trying to fill a void in the community that the Thomson plant left when it closed.
Each family gets a food basket, with bread, milk, potatoes, a turkey and miscellaneous items. Then, the employees go shopping with a list from the children. Some children asked for toys, while others just asked for clothes.
