FORUM Credit Union, together with its wholly-owned CUSO FORUM Solutions, hosted a Lending Blueprint Workshop that brought 18 credit unions from around the country together for a day of hands-on lending discussions and facilitated planning. The meeting was led by Doug True, SVP-lending and technology at FORUM Credit Union and president of FORUM Solutions.
According to FORUM, the goal of the workshop was to host an intimate group of credit unions interested in collaborating with their peers on lending best practices and to guide them through the process of creating their own "lending blueprint" or action plan.
"The concept of creating lending blueprints to help facilitate lending innovation and planning originated from my one-on-one lending consulting work with credit unions," said True, who used a blueprint format to guide credit unions through the various aspects of their lending programs, including delivery channels, product, pricing, underwriting, philosophy, and relationships. By examining what credit unions are currently doing, together they discover new strategies, ideas, and even practices they should stop engaging in, he said.
