GALVESTON, Texas – Credit unions in the Houston and Galveston markets are staging a week’s worth of joint events to raise awareness of credit unions during International Credit Union Week.
A unified marketing theme has been developed and various free activities are being hosted. According to the credit unions, daily topics include Youth Day today, Financial Literacy on Wednesday, Political Involvement and International CU Day on Thursday, Community Involvement on Friday, and Financial Safety and Security on Saturday.
Events are being held at a local YMCA, a free “Know Your Credit Score” Webinar is being hosted, meet-and-greets with politicians are taking place, food is being collected for food banks, and more. There also is a shred day taking place at six locations.
