Grafton CU Celebrates Homefield Advantage

NORTH GRAFTON, Mass. — Grafton Suburban Credit Union members voted recently to change the CU's name to Homefield Credit Union, reflecting the credit union's growth into neighboring communities.

"Since our inception in Grafton in 1966, our membership has grown dramatically and now encompasses all of Worcester and Middlesex counties. While our heart and soul remain in Grafton, we feel it is appropriate to change our name to one that retains the local spirit of Grafton, yet one that also allows more members a greater sense of inclusion in a strong, community-based credit union," said Lloyd Hamm, president and CEO of the credit union, in a statement. "The name, Homefield, is a fitting and exciting extension of the Grafton Suburban brand — a name on which we can build even more meaningful relationships with those in Grafton and the surrounding communities we serve."

New Homefield signage will be installed over the next few months, the $127.5 million CU said, noting the name change will become official in early 2015. To mark the change, the 10,000-plus member credit union will hold an open house at its main branch in North Grafton.
