WESTLAND, Mich. Wayne-Westland FCU here has become the temporary home for a 2,000-pound granite bench.
The bench, which resides under a flagpole in front of the main office, will remain there until it moves in several months to the Veterans Memorial Garden of Westland, being built behind a public library. The bench was delivered to WWFCU by its creators, Tom and Andrew Woodruff, because the credit union is one of several sponsors for the veterans memorial project.
In all, seven such granite benches, which cost $3,000 each, are being created.
