Guilty Plea In Tax Refund Check Scheme

HARTFORD, Conn. – A Haitian immigrant has agreed to plead guilty to a scheme to cash tens of thousands of dollars in stolen tax refund checks at Navy FCU.

Jeane Andre Aine, known as "Papoosh," hired runners to cash the stolen tax checks at the Navy Fed branch in Groton, Conn. The checks were made out to residents of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Aine, who lives in Brooklyn, pled guilty to a single count of bank fraud.
