NEW HAVEN, In. – Two men who forced an employee of Three Rivers FCU to open a vault Friday morning got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
Between 6:40 and 7:15 a.m., the employee was arriving for work and was about to open a side door to the branch when the men appeared out of the nearby bushes, according to police.
One of the robbers brandished a handgun, and they made the employee open the door. The three then went into the otherwise empty credit union, and the employee was directed to open a walk-in vault, police said.
The two robbers left the credit union with the cash and got into what may have been a dark-colored vehicle driven by a third person, police said. The employee was not injured during the holdup but was “pretty shaken up.”
