BROCKTON, Mass. - (12/20/05) -- HarborOne CU said it is collectingbaby clothing, toys, blankets, disposable diapers, formula andother infant necessities to help support Brockton hospital's annual'Better Beginnings' program. Each of the credit union's brancheswill have a specially marked bin for donated items, which will becollected throughout the month of December. All items collectedwill be distributed to new mothers through the coming year. Eachmother who delivers a child through the Better Beginnings programwill receive a basket of new items. More than 800 new mothersreceived assistance through the program last year. Thenine-year-old program offers mothers-to-be assistance with healthinsurance, pre-natal care, doctor appointments, delivery andpost-natal care and includes advocates who speak Spanish,Portuguese, French, Cape Verdean, Haitian, Vietnamese andCantonese.
