Hawaii Pacific FCU Adds Open Solutions’ Teller Capture

HONOLULU – Hawaii Pacific FCU has selected Open Solutions’ DNAtMagic Integrated Teller Capture and OpenCheck Outsourced Item Processing to streamline its operations, improve performance and reduce operating costs.

The $50-million credit union will implement DNAtMagic, as well as OpenCheck, in an outsourced environment through Open Solutions’ Global Operations Center. DNAtMagic captures checks — as well as savings and checking deposit slips, withdrawal tickets, loan coupons and general ledger tickets — in real time at the point of presentment.

Checks are scanned at the teller station directly into DNA, which the company said saves time and money by significantly reducing errors, key strokes and Day 2 adjustments. Extensive image quality checks are performed on each scanned item, including verification of MICR, CAR/LAR and IQUA data. Checks missing information are easily detected and a clear audit trail is provided, decreasing opportunities for fraud. DNAtMagic also shortens member wait times and allows tellers to focus more on member relations while decreasing teller training time and workload.

An existing Open Solutions client since 2005, Hawaii Pacific currently utilizes DNA core processing, DNApublisher business intelligence performance dashboard, DNAreport business intelligence ad hoc reporting, DNAledger general ledger financial accounting, DNAfixedassets fixed asset financial accounting, DNAvoice interactive voice response telephony, DNAeStatements paperless account statements, and market intelligence consulting services from Raddon Financial Group.
