MADISON, Wis. – Heartland CU on Tuesday gave $8,000 in prizes to two winners of its interactive, online Money Mission game.
During the 16-week session, players of the financial education game were encouraged to make a wide range of decisions, including buying a car, trading stocks and holding down a job. The choices players made were tied to their own happiness meter, a barometer designed to demonstrate how good financial decisions require life balance. Those who navigated the simulated world successfully had a chance to win a state-level scholarship by writing an essay regarding their experience.
The two winners each received $4,000 scholarships.
