Hialeah Municipal Employees FCU to convert to Sharetec core system

Hialeah Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union has partnered with credit union software firm Sharetec System for a new core system.

The $11 million-asset Hialeah, Fla.-based credit union hopes to see an increase in automation efficiency and system access with the conversion.

According to Keane Kulak, regional director at Sharetec, new services are arriving for HME FCU’s membership by way of the new core system.

”Members will soon have access to checking, digital signatures in and out of the credit union offices, mobile banking so much more,” Kulak said in a statement.

Kulak added that the credit union’s “current core could not support” its membership’s financial needs.

“We have known for some time that we needed a new technology partner that understands the demands of our size credit union but could provide the services of a large credit union, and Sharetec meets that need,” Patti Gersack, operations & compliance manager at Hialeah Municipal Employees FCU, said in a statement.

HME FCU is following at the heels of other credit unions, such as Priority Plus FCU and Missouri County CU in converting to Sharetec.

Wilmington, Del.-based Priority Plus FCU signed with Sharetec in Aug. 2018 to convert the CU’s core system, marking the $17 million-asset institution's first core conversion in 20 years.

Similarly, Clayton, Mo.-based County Credit Union agreed that Sharetec would provide the CU’s next core banking system.

Started in 1994, Lino Lakes, Minn.-based Sharetec is a provider of in-house and service bureau core solutions to over 250 credit unions.
