HONOLULU – Hickam FCU was approved by NCUA to expand outside its core military field of membership and the local community to serve all 950,000 residents of the island of Oahu.
The $500-million credit union was chartered in 1936 to serve employees at the Hawaiian Air depot. It expanded in 1950 to serve employees at Hickam Air Force Base and in 1999 expanded outside the base to serve residents of the surrounding Ewa District.
