LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A man believed responsible for Monday morning’s armed robbery of $60,000 from Kentucky Telco FCU was arrested after he crashed his getaway car following an hour-long chase by police.
The chase began after a police cruiser pulled alongside a Lincoln Navigator that fit the description of the getaway car and the driver sped away. As many as half a dozen police cruisers joined the pursuit.
After the Navigator crashed into another vehicle police arrested the driver, identified as 30-year-old Paul Willis, who they believe may be responsible for several other robberies, as well as the credit union hold-up.
A handgun used in the robbery and the stolen credit union cash was recovered in the front seat of the vehicle, according to police.
