KANSAS CITY, Mo. - (12/23/04) -- A local man pleaded guilty infederal court Tuesday to assisting in the murder of a federalwitness to the 1997 armed robbery at Educators FCU in Omaha, Neb.Cornelius Peoples, 30, admitted that he helped Xavier Lightfootarrange the murder of John Wayne Hogsett who had been providingpolice with evidence against the two men in a series of creditunion and bank robberies in the Midwest. Three other men have alsobeen convicted of killing Hogsett, who lived as a woman under thename Jovan Ross.
