BETHPAGE, N.Y. – A local man was charged this week with forging checks to steal more than $200,000 from a Bethpage FCU member while the member was hospitalized.
Luis Morales allegedly forged four separate checks from the victim’s checking accounts beginning March 1 while the victim was confined to critical care and incapacitated, according to police.
Morales, 40, was charged with grand and criminal possession of a forged instrument.
