SAN DIEGO - (08/02/05) -- A 25-year-old man taken hostage bythree men outside California Coast CU Monday afternoon managed toescape as the assailants robbed the credit union. One of therobbers guarded the captive while the other two took cash fromtellers, but the hostage broke free and ran out of the credit unionshouting 'bank robbery!' The robbers drove off in a white vehiclewith an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during thehold-up.
