SEATTLE — Promoting CUs' willingness to help young members, getting involved with Realtors, and dangling a tax credit is not enough to drive better marketshare over the long run, stresses one person.
Dan Green, EVP with Prime Alliance Solutions, noted, "Credit unions must do a better job of first defining a purchase-money mortgage strategy for all members, then define sub-strategies for different segments of purchase-money borrowers, Gen Y included. Our industry's way of looking at the mortgage transaction, where we enter it, how we enter it, who we partner with it to ensure we're considered a trusted, reliable option is going to have to adapt to the new environment and to new age demographics."
