HUNTINGTON, Ind. — Huntington Schools CU is now Partners 1st FCU after the two shops finalized a merger this week.
Huntington Schools, formerly an $8 million credit union, becomes a branch of the Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Partners 1st, which now has more than $260 million in assets.
Beth Blocker, who headed Huntington Schools, remains as manager of Partners' new Huntington office.
Blocker said the changeover from a small to a larger credit union will benefit customers in several ways. "The lobby and the drive-through can be open more, and we've added a couple of part-time tellers. It will just be better for our membership."
New services that will be available include home equity loans, a variety of higher-paying savings accounts and CDs, according to Blocker.
