TULSA, Okla. A member of Tulsa FCU and Tulsa Teachers CU on Wednesday was sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison for using another person’s identity to borrow $230,000 from the two credit unions and buy six vehicles, including a Winnebago motorhome and a Hummer.
Don Osby Jr., 38, was ordered to pay more than $100,000 in restitution for the fraudulent vehicle loans, with which he financed a 2007 Winnebago Vista, a 2004 Coachman motorhome, a 2003 Hummer H2, a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse, a 2011 Chevrolet Suburban and a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox. Prosecutors said Osby planned to offer the vehicles for rent.
Osby was charged in an 18-count indictment with using another person’s Social Security number in the purchase of the vehicles.
Osby is free on bond and is to report to prison by April 3.
