WASHINGTON – Twelve credit union leaders have been named, including two posthumously, to the new "Credit Union House Hall of Leaders,” created by Credit Union House.
The goal is to provide lasting recognition for individuals who have “demonstrated an outstanding commitment to credit unions and who have made a significant impact on the credit union movement at the local, state, or national level.”
“We wanted a permanent way to recognize leaders who have played–and continue to play–key roles in strengthening our credit union system,” said Rick Pillow, chairman of Credit Union House and CEO of the Virginia league.
The first person to be inducted will be Guy M. Hood, president/CEO of the Florida Credit Union League and treasurer of Credit Union House, who has recently announced his retirement. Other inductees include Carroll D. Beach, former president/CEO of the Credit Union Associations of Colorado & Wyoming; David L. Chatfield, former President/CEO of the California & Nevada Credit Union Leagues; Charles DiMercurio, past chair of Anheuser Busch Employees’ Credit Union; Russell A. Easterling, former president/CEO of CPM FCU; Charles E. Elliott, Jr., president/CEO of the Mississippi Credit Union Association; Eugene H. Farley, Jr., former President/CEO of the Virginia Credit Union League; Bruce Foulke, former chair of the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association; John Kebles, former chair of the Pennsylvania CUA; Thomas E. Sargent, president/CEO of First Tech Credit Union; (posthumous) James P. Kirsch of the Virginia Credit Union League, and (posthumous) Glen Reese of the Nevada Credit Union League.
