The upgrade isdesigned to lower the total cost of servicing a loan and improvecustomer service, the firm said. "We've cut our labor expenses byone-third since bringing MortgageWare Loan Servicing into Providenta year ago," said Joseph Smith II, senior vice president for theNational Servicing Center for Provident Bank. "The latest releasebuilds on that same benefit by giving us the ability toelectronically archive reports. You can waste a lot of time andeffort locating and then pulling these documents from paper files.Now we can quickly find and view them." The bank now offersreal-time portfolio information to investors and will soon beproviding up-to-the-minute account information to customers overthe Web on a self-service basis.
