KINGSFORD, Mich. – Norbert “Bing” Emond, who served as a volunteer for Iron Mountain Kingsford Community FCU for 47 years, the last 43 as chairman of the board, passed away March 15 at 79.
A U.S. Army veteran, Emond and his wife owned and operated Twin Pines Lumber Company from 1963 until his retirement in 1988. He was named Person of the Year by the Michigan CU Foundation in 1981 for his community service.
The credit union has almost $61 million in assets and 14,000 members.
