Vantage Releases Android Mobile App
ST. LOUIS-Vantage Credit Union launched its new Android mobile banking app on Google Play for members with MyVantage online banking accounts. Vantage previously launched its iPhone mobile app on the Apple Store in May.
The free online banking app works to securely check account balances, view transaction history, transfer funds, pay bills deposit checks via remote deposit and activate rewards.
CU Shores Up Breach
COLUMBIA, Mo.-Missouri Credit Union has informed members that in early August, a file containing member information was inadvertently made available through the credit union's website, exposing names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and teller and call-in passwords. The CU has arranged to have AllClear ID protect the identity of the members whose information was in the file for one year.
CU Invests In Facebook App
COLUMBIA, S.C.-Carolina Collegiate FCU is the first credit union in South Carolina to adopt Calcubot, a powerful Facebook application to fully engage with potential loan applicants via Facebook. Calcubot's consultative approach walks members and prospective loan customers through an interactive buying process tailored to the CU's loan products. The application is provided by Berkeley California-based fintech company Shastic. Calcubot allows members to save loan estimates on Carolina Collegiate FCU's Facebook page and solicit feedback from friends, family and advisors. To create long-term engagement with members, Calcubot provides an 'Alert Me' feature that monitors interest rate changes and notifies the member of savings opportunities. The social aspect of Calcubot Cloud lies in its ability to be shared with the end-user's Facebook friends with the click of a 'Like' button, creating viral brand awareness for the credit union. According to Shastic, 83.6% of users of this new app complete an estimate and that 17.6% of those then go on to click the "Apply" button.
Checking Account Evolves
EL PASO, Texas-evolve FCU is the first credit union in El Paso to offer its members a complete, online checking account, the ePriority account, with features such as transfers to other financial institutions, remote deposit capture, and online account opening. With the rise in technology and dependence on mobile devices, the credit union understands that it must continue to evolve its services in order to meet these growing demands.
