Deluxe Offers 9/11 Tribute

ST. PAUL, Minn.-Deluxe Corp. said last week it has introduced three new check designs, including the 'Heroes Triumph' line which honors the firefighters, police officers, and emergency workers who distinguished themselves during the Sept. 11 tragedy.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the checks will be donated to the Bravest Fund and the North Jersey Media Group Disaster Relief Fund which provides benefits for Sept. 11 relief workers and their families.

The other new check lines commemorate Harley Davidson's 100th anniversary and the 25th anniversary of cartoon character Garfield.

VolCorp Intro's Two Services

NASHVILLE, Tenn.-Volunteer Corporate CU (VolCorp) has introduced two new service offerings, including a new brokerage service through CU Investment Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of U.S. Central. CU Investment Solutions has opened a branch office at Volunteer Corporate. Separately, the corporate has introduced VolCorp Design, a creative design service to assist credit unions in marketing. Services will range from website design to print advertising to ad specialty items.

Conn. CU Converts, Expands

HARTFORD, Conn.-Officials with the state Department of Banking said they approved the conversion of Southern New England FCU, the state's fourth largest credit union, to a state charter in the closing days of last year. The credit union, now known as Southern New England Financial CU, will serve almost two-million residents in Hartford, New Haven and Middlesex counties, one of the largest FOMs ever granted a state charter in the Nutmeg State. It was the second conversion to state charter in Connecticut last year.

WECOE CU To Merge Into CACU

LENEXA, Kan.-WECOE CU said it has agreed to be merged into the $1.5-billion CommunityAmerica CU after financially ailing Lucent Technologies closed its nearby plant, where many of the members worked. The $8.2 million CU had 1,100 members, while Community America CU has more than 110,000 members.
