Kansas CUs Giving Away Gift Cards, Filling Gas Tanks

WICHITA, Kan. – Nine Kansas credit unions gave away gift cards or free gas to unsuspecting consumers as part of the Kansas CU Association’s first statewide “Make A Difference Day” event in tandem with International Credit Union Week.

The league said the credit unions gave out a total of $15,000 to 600 random consumers in six different communities across the state. The effort actually kicked off with the first Make A Difference event this past Saturday in Wamego, while the other five took place throughout the day yesterday in Ark City, Emporia, Topeka, Wichita and Winfield.

The league said more Make A Difference events are being planned for 2013.
