LENEXA, Kan. – Credit Union of Johnson County, the state’s fourth-largest credit union, will introduce its new name – Mainstreet CU – during a series of ads that will culminate with 15-second commercials during the pre-game show of the Super Bowl.
The fast-growing, $235 million credit union will follow up the Super Bowl ads with TV spots, radio ads, billboards, NP ads and bus wraps – all local placements – that will run over the next four to eight weeks promoting the new identity.
The credit union, a combination of five local credit unions in recent years, added three new branches in the past year, broadening its base throughout metro Kansas City.
"Our new name symbolizes the values our credit union stands for, such as trust, respect, honesty – key values of the heartland," said John Beverlin, of the moniker that belonged to one of the constituent credit unions. "And it reinforces to the community that we’re not ‘Wall Street,’ we’re Mainstreet."
The credit union serves 52,000 members at eight branches.
