COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kemba CU has launched a program called the Fresh Start Checking Account to help people who either don’t have a bank checking account or have a troubled past.
“We'll overlook that and give them a chance to have a checking account with Kemba,” said Mark Decello, a credit union representative. “(They can) prove themselves again and then move into one of our other checking accounts.”
The second chance accounts cost between $9 and $12 a month on average.
