KeyPoint CU Hooks Up With Facebook

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In an effort to attract more Gen Yers, KeyPoint CU has partnered with mobile banking provider MShift to develop an application that will allow its members to access their accounts over the online social networking site Facebook.

Processing Content

The application provides members with secure online information about their accounts. All account information is encrypted and no user data is stored on the Facebook servers. The system also provides members with information from and about the $700 million credit union and includes a social forum for them.

KeyPoint is the first financial institution to provide account access through Facebook, which claims 24 million users.

The application uses MShift’s mobile banking technology and the Facebook API, which enables companies to integrate applications and gain access to the site.
