LANCO FCU’s Barb Fortney Retires

LANCASTER, Penn. – Barb Fortney, president and CEO of LANCO FCU for the past 25 years, is retiring Jan. 21 and will be succeeded by the credit union’s executive vice president Barry Ashenfelder.

Fortney took over the credit union when it has just $2.5 million in assets and was housed in the back of a classroom in Hempfield High School, and grew it to its current $46 million and four branches.

Ashenfelder has more than 30 years of experience within financial institutions and joined the LANCO staff last January.
