BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - (05/11/06) The Birmingham City CouncilTuesday approved a deal to pay $1.24 million and trade fivecity-owned lots with Alabama Power Co. Employee CU, which thecredit union plans to use to build a new facility. The downtowncredit union building will be demolished and replaced by a newbuilding on land acquired from the city. The current credit unionplot will be used for urban renewal projects.
