Langley FCU Grants To School Total $10,000

NEWPORT NEWS, VA — Langley Federal Credit Union has made 40 grants of $250 each for a total of $10,000 to local schools to teach financial literacy in the classroom.

The grant program represents a doubling of the amount donated in 2009. LFCU said the grants will be used for a multitude of projects all related to financial literacy education, such as how to create a youth budget, a student-run non-profit school-supply store, and the creation of a Reality Fair where students pick a hypothetical occupation and manage all aspects of their finances.
