Latino Community CU Adds Another Branch

DURHAM, N.C. – Fast-growing Latino Community CU plans to open its second branch this year, and second in Charlotte on Monday. The community development credit union opened a new branch in Winston-Salem this year with help from a private sector grant.

The new Charlotte facility will offer full services, including deposit products, money-transfer services, loans, tax assistance and financial-education workshops.

The eight-year-old credit union has grown to $66 million in assets and seven branches in Charlotte, Durham, Raleigh, Greensboro, Fayetteville and Winston-Salem. The credit union earned net income of $785,000 for the first three quarters of the year.
