Latino Community CU Opens Eighth Branch

DURHAM, N.C. – Fast-growing Latino CU opened its newest branch yesterday in the town of Garner, the community development credit union’s eight service facility.

Several organizations gave support for the new branch, including the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, the Wachovia Foundation, the North Carolina Minority Support Center, and the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund.

The $75 million credit union, chartered in 2000, is the state’s first bilingual financial institution and has branches in Durham, Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, Fayetteville and Winston-Salem.
