Let Your Members Rate You

ORLANDO, Fla. – The idea of not just allowing but encouraging members to rate their own experiences with their credit union on the CU’s own website may seem a risk not worth taking, but several analysts are encouraging credit unions to do just that.

In remarks before Credit Union Journal’s Grow Show here, Andy Mattingly of FORUM Credit Union said the strategy is worth pursuing by any credit union interested in attracting younger members. “This is where we let our members rate our products online,” said Mattingly of the strategies it is considering, before acknowledging, “User generated ratings can be scary.”

Similarly, Jeff Hunt of CUNA Mutual Group called on credit unions to let younger members rate online the job their credit union is doing. Not only are young members already active advice-sharers and advice-users online, the credit union also benefits from getting direct feedback from members on an ongoing basis.
