Linda Childs announces retirement from TNConnect Credit Union

After more than 29 years as president and CEO of TNConnect Credit Union, Knoxville, Tenn., Linda Childs has decided now is the right time to retire and begin the next chapter in her life.

Her retirement from the $51 million CU is effective Aug. 31, TNConnect said is a press release Tuesday.

Effective Sept. 1, Martin Bradley will be promoted from executive vice president to president and CEO.

The credit union’s board noted Bradley has been an employee for more than 29 years, adding, “He is a valued member of the management team.”

“The board is confident members will continue to receive the level of service they deserve and expect from TNConnect.”

Childs said she will “genuinely miss the pace of life” as a credit union CEO, and the “wonderful relationships she has built over the course of her long career. She looks forward to spending more time with her husband, daughter and five grandchildren.

TNConnect earned a net income of $71,456 last year, a decline from its $104,023 net income in 2015. Its net income during the first quarter of 2017 was just over $11,000. Its current Net Worth Ratio is 7.98 percent, making it "well capitalized."
