ALEXANDRIA, Va. – NCUA yesterday banned Harold Wilkerson II, a former loan officer at Credit Union One in Topeka, Kan, who last year was convicted of creating $46,000 in bogus loans and transferring $30,000 of it to his own account.
As part of the scheme, Wilkerson used the Social Security numbers of at least two credit union members.
Wilkerson pleaded guilty to bank fraud last July and was sentenced to 24 months in prison. He was ordered to pay $29,000 in restitution, including $9,000 to CUMIS and $20,000 to the credit union, and to pay a $4,200 assessment.
