Lockheed FCU Implements nCipher’s Storage Encryption

BURBANK, Calif. – Lockheed FCU said it has installed nCipher’s CryptoStor Storage Encryption solution to encrypt data and backup recovery material.

Officials with the $2.5 billion credit union cited the system’s uncomplicated installation, reliable, user-friendly features, as well as its transparency with daily processing and speed of backups.

CryptoStor Tape is a high-speed tape security appliance that compresses, encrypts and digitally signs data as it goes to tape media or virtual tape – without disrupting backup processes. CryptoStor intercepts backup/restore communications between hosts and tape libraries, centrally managing and fully off-loading tape media security functions.

Jack Henry & Associates yesterday announced its Symitar unit has agreed to resell nCipher’s CryptoStor product to credit unions as part of its product offerings.

nCipher is based in Milpitas, Calif.
