WESTBURY, N.Y.— Fast-growing Nassau Educators FCU announced this afternoon the hiring of Madison Ave.’s DeVito/Verti as its new advertising agency, signaling a strong intention to set itself apart among fellow credit unions and traditional banks on Long Island.
Nassau Educators is Long Island’s third-largest credit union and just like its two bigger competitors, Bethpage FCU and Teachers FCU, it is authorized to serve more than 3 million people living on Long Island.
The hiring of the award-winning ad agency, which has represented such clients as Kohl's, Legal Sea Foods, Sony, Canon, Duane Reade Drug Stores, BMW and Grey Goose Vodka, is an indication that the credit union will be undertaking an aggressive campaign to attract new members, position itself as a smart and refreshing alternative to traditional banks, and gain share from its competitors.
DeVito/Verdi has been recognized as one of the most exceptional creative agencies in the industry and its work has won the firm top prizes at the Clios, Radio Mercury, Cannes, Andy, Addy and One Show award ceremonies.
"We are very excited to be working with such a creative agency like DeVito/Verdi," said Edward Paternostro, president of the $2 billion credit union. "Working with DeVito/Verdi will allow us to spread the word to more Long Islanders and introduce them to a better way to do their banking."
DeVito/Verdi was named the credit union's agency of record following a six-month review that was narrowed down to four finalists.
