HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. Teachers FCU has signed with Generations Gold to provide discounts on travel, hotel, dining, prescription drug and even pet insurance from local and national providers for as little as $4.95 per month.
The credit union said the program, known as Benefits Plus, will help members and the local economy by providing incentives to conduct business on Long Island.
Local merchants can sign up for the Benefits Plus program by agreeing to offer an exclusive discount to members of the $5-billion credit union. Teachers will promote these local businesses to its member base and the general public through what amounts to free advertising and ongoing marketing.
For Valentine’s Day, Benefits Plus members are offered discounted gift cards to popular retail outlets such as Barnes & Noble, Victoria’s Secret or Bath and Body Works. Or, they can choose a special Dinner and a Movie package with steep discounts to their favorite local restaurants.
