McLEAN, Va. – Long-term mortgage rates dipped this week, but the rate for the 30-year loan remained above 6%, according to Freddie Mac.

The average for the 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage slipped to 6.01% this week, from 6.05% last week; while the average for the 15-year, fixed-rate loan remained unchanged at 5.60%.
ARM rates fell slightly, with the average for the five-year ARM moving to 5.67%, from 5.75% last week; and the average for the one-year ARM falling to 5.18%, from 5.29%.
